Terms
Scope of analysis.
What a PuriLab report covers, and what it does not.
Scope of analysis
PuriLab Analytical provides analytical testing services only. All results apply solely to the sample as received and are not representative of any larger lot, batch, or production run. A certificate describes one sample on one date.
Findings are limited to the analytes and method parameters stated on the report. No determination is made as to any characteristic not expressly measured. Identity and quantitative content are reported against working standards characterized in house by the stated method.
Where a result falls below the reporting limit of the method, it is reported as less than that limit rather than as a number.
Accreditation status
PuriLab Analytical is not a clinical or diagnostic laboratory. It is not CLIA certified and holds no ISO 17025 accreditation. It is not registered with, inspected by, or approved by the Food and Drug Administration or any equivalent authority.
Results are not intended for medical, diagnostic, therapeutic, or regulatory purposes and shall not be construed as a representation regarding the safety, legality, or fitness of any material for any use.
Nothing in a PuriLab Analytical report constitutes medical advice, a recommendation, or an endorsement of any material, supplier, or practice.
No sale or distribution
PuriLab Analytical does not manufacture, distribute, sell, or supply any substance. It makes no representation as to the origin, ownership, or legal status of any submitted sample.
Reports are issued to the submitting party and reflect the analysis performed on the date indicated. Certificates are published so that their authenticity can be independently verified. Publication is not an invitation for any other party to rely on a report in connection with a transaction to which PuriLab Analytical is not a party.
Submitter responsibilities
By submitting a sample, the submitting party represents that:
- They are of legal age in their jurisdiction.
- They have the legal right to possess and transfer the material submitted.
- The material is submitted for analytical purposes only and is not being submitted for return, resale, or redistribution.
- The description provided at submission is accurate to the best of their knowledge, including any known hazard.
- Submission and shipment comply with all laws applicable to them.
Sample handling
Samples are submitted at the submitting party's own risk. PuriLab Analytical does not return submitted material. Remaining material is destroyed after analysis and issuance of the certificate.
PuriLab Analytical may decline or discontinue any analysis at its discretion, and may decline to accept any material.
Shipping and receipt of samples
The submitting party is responsible for shipping the sample to the complete address shown at checkout, including the suite and box number exactly as written. Packages missing any part of the address may not reach the laboratory.
The submitting party chooses the carrier, purchases the shipping label, and is the carrier's customer. Any claim for loss, delay, damage, or misdelivery is between the submitting party and the carrier.
A sample is received when PuriLab Analytical logs it in at the laboratory, not when a carrier marks it delivered. A package the carrier marks delivered to an incorrect or incomplete address remains the submitting party's responsibility.
Samples should be sealed, labeled, and packed to survive transit. PuriLab Analytical is not responsible for samples that arrive broken, leaking, unlabeled, or otherwise unfit for analysis.
Payment, credits, and refunds
Payment is due in full before analysis begins.
If a paid sample is not received because of an incorrect or incomplete address, is lost or damaged in transit, or arrives unfit for analysis, the amount paid is held as credit toward a future analysis. Credit remains valid for twelve months from the date of payment and has no cash value. Refunds in these cases are at PuriLab Analytical's sole discretion and, where granted, exclude payment processing fees.
Once analysis has begun, fees are non-refundable, except as described under Disputed results.
Where an analysis cannot be completed because of an error by PuriLab Analytical, the amount paid for that analysis is refunded in full.
Analysis is delivered when the certificate is emailed to the submitting party or published at its verification address, whichever occurs first.
Payment disputes
Questions about a charge should be raised with PuriLab Analytical first at admin@purilab.org. Most issues are resolved the same day.
If a card payment is disputed with the card issuer for an analysis that was delivered, PuriLab Analytical will contest the dispute and provide the issuer with the order record, the accepted version of these terms, sample intake records, and delivery records for the certificate. Accounts with an open or lost payment dispute may be closed, and further submissions declined.
Disputed results
Where a result is disputed and the dispute is raised within thirty days of issuance, the remedy is re analysis of retained material where retained material remains, or refund of the amount paid for that analysis, at PuriLab Analytical's election. This is the sole and exclusive remedy for a disputed result.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PuriLab Analytical's total liability arising out of any analysis or report shall not exceed the amount paid for that analysis, and PuriLab Analytical shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in California.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be revised. The version in effect at the time a sample is submitted governs that submission.
